With 2011 now under way we take a look back at some of the best and most memorable moments from 2010, split into three parts. Here is Part 1 and the list of shots goes as follows: 60019 'Bittern' on 'The Valentines Express' streaking past Crofton (13/02/10) 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall' & 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe' on 'The Great Western Incursion' departing Swindon on the outward and then storming back out again on the return (20/02/10) 60163 'Tornado' on 'The St Davids Day Cathedrals Express' speeding through Swindon on the outward and then roaring out on the return with plenty on whistles and noise (01/03/10) 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' on 'The Cathedrals Express' in the pouring rain bursting out of Swindon after an unscheduled stop on the outward and then speeding through on the return (25/03/10) D1015 'Western Champion' on 'The Royal Duchy' hell firing her way out of Swindon on the outward (03/04/10) 5029 'Nunney Castle' on 'The Great Britain III' cruising through Swindon but giving some fantastic two tone whistles (06/04/10) 35028 'Clan Line' on 'The VSOE Special' slipping and sliding out of Bath Spa on the outward (14/04/10) 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe' on 'The Bristolian', one of the most memorable events of 2010, seen cruising through Swindon on the outward then coming back like a bat out of hell on the return (17/04/10) 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall' & 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe' on a loco movement through Swindon, most probably the best whistles of 2010 (14/05/10) Didcot GWR 175 (01/05/10 & 08/05/10) 7802 'Bradley Manor' departing Gotherington on the GWSR during their GWR 175 event, one of the best noises I heard all year, turn up the volume (30/05/10) Thanks to everyone for their support over the year and I look forward to seeing what 2011 will bring. Thank you and Happy New Year.
