What happens when a structured recovery program is delivered remotely — by physiotherapists — to patients from very different backgrounds? In this video, Angelo, a physiotherapist working with Joint Recovery, shares his experience supporting patients through the first 30 days after hip or knee replacement. From a physiotherapy perspective, he discusses: • Guiding patients safely through the acute post-operative phase • Integrating exercise, wellbeing, and home recovery advice • Delivering effective rehab with minimal equipment at home • Supporting patients the physio team had never met in person • Challenging patients appropriately to optimise recovery The results were striking: All nine patients — both hip and knee replacements — achieved functional range of motion, were walking with minimal assistance, and were well ahead of typical recovery expectations at 30 days. In our videos, we discuss recovery, rehabilitation, and patient education following hip and knee replacement surgery. This content is part of the Joint Recovery digital rehabilitation education program. Joint Recovery supports patients with structured guidance, daily rehabilitation routines, and clinically informed education to improve confidence and recovery outcomes.
