Here is a Jerry Fuller song by The Cascades, previously recorded by Ricky Nelson. The Cascades had a hit early in 1963 with "Rhythm Of The Rain" with Hal Blaine on drums. The Cascades cover of "For Your Sweet Love" is believed to have been tracked during a September 24, 1963 session with Leon Russell as a participant. The contract for that session was neglectfully filled out by contractor Benjamin Barrett with no song titles. There are many session contracts from 1962-1968 that Leon was listed on, yet no song titles appeared. Perry Botkin was the arranger and session leader. Leon was organist and Gene Garf was pianist, along with Jessie Sailes and Dave Wilson on drums, Julius Wechter on mallets and George Callender on bass. The guitarists were Erv Coleman, Ed Snyder and Dave Stevens. From master numbers on the RCA single 47-8268, it makes sense that "For Your Sweet Love" was recorded along with "Little Betty Falling Star," released on 47-8321. The master numbers for the latter two were 4499 and 4497, putting them at the same time. "For Your Sweet Love" was on a November 1963 single with "Jeannie," which a newly-discovered contract shows was from a June 20 session with Robert Florence and Al De Lory listed as pianist and organist, using master number 4260. Also done that session were "Cinderella" and "A Little Like Lovin'"" which had master numbers 4257 and 4258. Master 4259 was assigned to "Awake," written by JJ Jackson and issued on 47-8402 in July opposite "I Dare You To Try." There was also a September 25 session for The Cascades led by Botkin which also left out song titles, and without Leon listed. This deduction of placing Leon on "For Your Sweet Love" may be wrong, but from the master numbers it seems logical.
