I implemented a targeting system for a soul-like game. When you press the targeting button, it locks on to the nearest enemy and walks with a strafing motion accordingly. It detects mouse movement and when you move the mouse to the left in the targeting state, it locks on to the nearest enemy to the left of the currently locked enemy, and when you move the mouse to the right, it locks on to the nearest enemy to the right.
