St. Michaels Mount is the British version of Mont Saint Michel, in essence. It is a legendary place in Cornwall and for most people it is the best place to visit in Cornwall. The views from the surrounding coast are incredible, we visited other places during our trip, such as Mousehole, and you could see the castle from so many angles. Our day started by visiting Marazion, pronounce Ma-Ra-Zi-On. Marazion is a civil parish and town, on the shore of Mount's Bay in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Penzance and the tidal island of St Michael's Mount is half-a-mile offshore. We visited a lot of the shops and visited the museum, we also visited a pasty shop called Philps, we kept calling it Phillips. Once we had finished visiting the town we headed to St. Michael's Mount. We had booked our tickets in advance, being members of the National Trust we went in for free. The walk across the granite causeway took us a long time as we kept stopping to take more and more pictures. We took over 400 during the day (just on our phones) we took many more on our cameras too. The whole place is so picturesque! Once across, we thought about eating at one of the cafes, 'the island cafe' and the 'harbour loft' looked really nice. However, we had eaten large Cornish Pasties before we crossed the causeway. Walking up the steep steps to the castle, we had a fantastic view of the surrounding area and looking out to Penzance and beyond. Having been to Mousehole and Penzance the day before we had swapped views. The amount of time you take to get around the castle itself, as you could take 20 minutes or 3 hours. We ended up spending over 2 hours there as the length of the video suggests :D We had planned to go to the gardens and the cafe but we were there for so long we had to get across the causeway and leave the island before the tide came in and the island closes for visitors.
