9 month old filly (Paint/TB) uncoordinated movements. Vet says she is experiencing growth problems due to her size (around 14 hands) and recommended cutting her feed to slow down growth. This filly jumped the fence at around 5 months old and sustained a tear in her left pectoral muscle and had hit her head. Vet was called immediately and determined no concussion. It took over two months to heal and the filly was body sore for that time. Filly was large at birth and windswept but straightened out in one month. There was no sign of ataxia at all until the last two months and it appears to be getting worse gradually. I have posted this video so that I can reference it to any chiropractors or vets who I may contact for help. Note that the hocks are sore and swollen and the stumbling toe jabs. Vet believes she knows where her feet are. Sorry about my lousy movie making. I don't expect an online diagnosis, only some suggestions on how to go about getting one. All I have now is that she is growing too fast and this is causing problems. This may be correct but I just want to know for sure. Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to view this and offer suggestions. I know that there are expensive tests on spinal chord injuries and so forth. I don't want to go that route as you can imagine. Maybe this is just a growth thing...but maybe not?
