The Vogues - I've Got You On My Mind (1968)

This is a beautiful song written by Roger Cook & Roger Greenaway. The Vogues recorded it for their first 45 on the Reprise label after their move from Ce & Co records. The other side of this single is "Just What I Was Looking For", co-written by Roger Nichols. This is an amazing double sider. According to 45cat.com, this 45 was released in February 1968. Another version of this song was issued at the same time in the UK by Dorian Gray and became a small hit over there (#36). A couple of years later, White Plains also did a great cover of this song and it did even better on the British charts (#17) and it's probably the most familiar version of this tune. This recording by the Vogues is not as common and didn't appear on any of their albums or any CD compilation as far as I know.
