The Active Volcano in Oregon; Mount Hood

While today Oregon's Mount Hood is quiet, this was not the case during the 1700s and 1800s, when this volcano erupted during 16 separate years. Having last erupted in 1866, and having a history of long reaching lahars, it should come as no surprise that the tallest volcano in Oregon is also rated as the same state's most potentially dangerous volcano. This video will discuss the eruptive history and hazard posed by Mount Hood, along with its recent pattern of eruptive activity.
