My Coming Out Story - Robin Boynton III // Ascension

No more hiding among the trees…. I was reading Genesis 3…now for those of you who follow me on TikTok you probably already know the hold Genesis 3 has had on me. God has been saying so much but bare with me while I update everyone else. I noticed how once Adam and Eve fell they began to cover themself and leaves and then hide in the trees. Covering themself in what’s was killing them while hiding in what was killing them. It was death covered in death hiding in death running from the life that was calling them. The Bible tells us they hid when they heard the Spirit of God walking towards them. I started to think of my life. How God has been calling me out of the trees…out from the very thing that has been killing me and instead of coming out the trees with my leaves on I’ve decided to hide and ignore Him. As God has given me this clear vision and clear call to start a church I’m trying to figure out who He’s called me to reach. It can’t be the same people the old church did as the Bible tells us to build not on someone else’s foundation but on a foundation Jesus hasn’t been preached…and I now find clarity on who I’ve been chosen to reach…the people who thing who they love stops God from loving them. Our lives are not experiences only for ourselves they are so we can be a testimony to others of Jesus Christ and how good He is. The most requested topics I get are about homosexuality and Christianity and people asking if God still loves them and it’s so clear me hiding my authenticity is failing at being the vessel God has called me to be. Romans 8:31-39 tells us that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus and I’m a living testimony of that. I am a living breathing testimony of this scripture and if I continue to hide it, I fail at reaching who God had called me to reach. It’s painful…I’ve never wanted who I’m attracted to, to become my identity. I never chose this, I didn’t want this, like Paul I prayed that this thorn in my side be removed as I blame it for so many of my struggles in life such as my battle with lust. As a child I was so ridiculed and belittled by my parents regarding who I was attracted to and I chose to hide every ounce of personality living under the trauma of what might happen if I show up as me. As I’ve grown I realize not only does who I am not have to be associated with who I am attracted to but honestly if anyone has anything negative to say those are just not my people. I don’t want to build a church lead by liars and deceivers and fakers and manipulator. I want to build a church of authenticity. A church of great character and truth. One that is the true image of Christ that says all are loved and all are welcome. Jesus waited on sinners to save them and there are so Kay people who need Jesus that aren’t seeking Him because they believe who they love condemns them to hell. As much as I would love to stay hiding among the trees I know that if I due I will die and never live… No more living in the dark…I have lives to impact. This video was raw…in every aspect….but chile don’t judge me. If y’all gon follow me, it’s gotta be the real me not the fake one. I’m still growing. Still changing. Still being developed….and that’s why I preach Christ. Because He loves us now. Not tomorrow or next week. But today in our imperfections and in our struggles the days we do good and the days we do bad. Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV) says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God knows us through and through so why hide from a world that never wanted you in the first place. Stand boldly in God and all He’s created you to be. Rest in His love and He’ll do the rest.
