Made in New Guinea, this film was shot mainly in forward battle areas, some of which were under fire. It was photographed by the Commonwealth Film Unit which flew with an Australian patrol into the Ramu Valley, then marched with it to the out post of Shaggy Ridge in the Finisterre Range. The patrol's members are: Pte A N McGregor, L/Cpl A C Pierson, Pte R F C Northcott, Pte A B Graffin, Pte M J Driver, Corporal R A Box, Pte J H Adams, VX22153 Pte Ernest Barmby. The other identified person is US 5th Air Force C47 (nose art "Honeymoon Express") Pilot Colonel Bill Williams. Scenes include flight from Port Moresby via Salamaua and Lae to Dumpu airstrip, Ramu Valley. Journey to Shaggy Ridge. The section on patrol through swamp and kunai grass.
