What would you do with an extra 24 hours? Sleep, spend quality time with the kids, or how about skydiving, zip-lining or taking a cooking class with your spouse? In 2016, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh gifted his employees February 29, Leap Day, as a paid vacation day. He stipulated, however, that something out of the ordinary happen during those extra 24 hours. Jackie Welton took a leap of faith when she trusted her fellow Zapponians. Bundled into a Zappos shuttle, Welton was surprised by several other colleagues who gifted her with a surprise cooking class for her and her husband. But that’s not all they cooked up for her. In this episode of Zappos Stories, we follow Welton as she has an evening she won’t soon forget. “I took the leap, yes, I did, and oh, my gosh, it was amazing,” says a surprised Welton.
