The Helper: The untold stories of foreign domestic workers | Rachel Tam | TEDxCUHK

Rachel Tam is a legal case officer at PathFinders, an NGO that combines social work with legal support for vulnerable populations, in particular, pregnant foreign domestic workers and their children born in Hong Kong. In her talk "THE HELPER: The untold stories of foreign domestic workers", Rachel highlights the holes in current HK legislation in supporting foreign domestic, bringing insights into the gaps in the understanding of maternity rights on the part of the workers as well as the employers. Currently employed as a Legal Case Officer at PathFinders Limited, a registered Hong Kong charity which assists distressed migrant women who are pregnant or have children born in Hong Kong, Rachel Tam mainly handles employment, immigration, discrimination and human rights matters.
