Episode 63 If you are new to our channel, back in April we started the Big Hoof Foundation to help rescue more "Big Hoof" animals from shipping to slaughter. We weren't planning on making the announcement about the foundation until summer but we made the announcement sooner because of Lucky who we rescued in March. If you don't know who Lucky is check out his playlist of videos. Everyone kept telling us we needed to rescue a gelding so Charlie would have another gelding to hang around with.The secret we have been keeping is back in February before we rescued Lucky, we rescued another horse! We haven't announced his arrival because he is nothing like the other horses we have here on the farm. As our vet would say...he's spicy and not nice all the time. This video is about the challenges we faced with the new gelding, his training, integration with the herd and accepting love for the first time from Cory and I. With the announcement of this new horse, we have rescued 17 horses over the last year and a half! 13 of those horses are here at Fletcher Farms Amarillo, two were adopted out and two sadly passed away. I wish we could save them all but we will continue to save the horses we can until there are changes made in this broken system. We hope you enjoy this video! They do offer a discount if you purchase per pallet (40 - 50 pound bags) $16.95 per bag by the pallet. WE go through about 3-1/2 bags per day to feed all 13 horses (175 pounds per day).
