Working with the internationally famous cartoon Peanuts, the city has launched the initiative "Travel in Taichung Safely with Snoopy." Snoopy’s cheerful likeness can be seen on traffic lights, while another large Snoopy installation reminds pedestrians to stop, look, and listen when crossing a street. When the light is red, this special traffic signal displays Snoopy almost falling asleep. But when it turns green, he starts walking ahead briskly. It’s adorable! So cute. It’s fun. You can watch what he’s doing. He walks when it turns green. On the busy intersection of Taiwan Boulevard and Wenxin文心 Road, one of the pedestrian traffic signals was swapped to this special Snoopy version. At any given time you can see people stopping to take a look. It’s very vivid. It makes your walk interesting. Not bad, not bad. It’s pretty soothing. At the park in front of the Taichung City Council building, there’s also a collection of Snoopy characters big and small. A sign posted nearby reminds pedestrians to stop, look, and listen when crossing the road. Basically everyone from young to old can’t live without Snoopy. The Taichung City Government worked with the internationally famous cartoon on its “Travel Taichung Safely with Snoopy” initiative, connecting various modes of transportation across the city to create an “immersive” traffic safety experience. Yeh Chao-fu Taichung Transportation Bureau Director Happiness is a kindly companion. We hope for transportation to be the same. Snoopy and his friends can also be found at the many publicly run parking lots, giving pedestrians a cute surprise as they walk from the entrance to the elevator.
