In late January 2026, Storm Chandra caused widespread flooding across the South and South West of England. This film documents the impact of the storm on Salisbury city centre and surrounding landscapes, captured from the air during a brief break in the weather. Filmed above Queen Elizabeth Gardens and the Harnham Water Meadows, the aerial footage reveals the scale of flooding where the Rivers Avon and Nadder burst their banks. From above, the landscape shows both disruption and unexpected patterns created by the floodwaters. The film also observes how local wildlife adapted to the changing conditions, with swans, kingfishers, and other species occupying newly formed pools and flooded paths. As extreme weather events become more frequent, documenting these changes helps us better understand how landscapes and habitats respond. Filmed by Carlton Brunton, a Salisbury-based filmmaker working across documentary, environmental, and story-led video projects. Watch the full film and read the accompanying article on the website.
