Assalamu alaikum! (Peace be upon you) I soaked cowpeas to boil for breakfast but suddenly craved for medu vada or urad dhal vada, then I thought 'why not try to make vada with cowpeas'. Bling! That wasn’t a bad idea after all. Enjoy watching. Please subscribe. Ingredients: 250g soaked cowpea 4-5 tbsp all purpose flour Salt to taste Pinch of baking powder Cumins for flavor Onion chopped (As much as you want) 1 green chili 2 tbsp water Blend the cowpeas, chopped onions, chili and cumin together for about 20 seconds. Then add the water and blend again until it’s a smooth paste. Transfer the paste to a large bowl and add a pinch of baking powder, salt and the flour mixing it until everything’s well combined. Once it’s done leave it aside for 20-30 minutes. Heat the oil. Wet your hands and take a small portion of batter to your palm, shape it into a ball then slightly flatten it on the top and make a hole in the center. Make sure the oil is hot and drop in the vada. Repeat the same process for every vada. Flip the vadas in between to cook them evenly and take out once it’s golden brown. Enjoy while the vadas are warm.
