Nice ride downtown via Bloor Street bike lanes and University Avenue bike lanes. First ride since the big snows in February. The lanes were almost all completely clear except for a chunk of compacted snow/ice in the bike lane at St. George. Drivers mostly behaved themselves and traffic was pretty light, I guess because of March break (must be nice). The weather wasn't too cold, just 3°c. I wore thermal tights, a shirt and a bike jacket and still got a bit sweaty by the time I arrived at work. I'm still seeing comments on different posts about Toronto getting "6 to 7 months of winter" and I really wonder if they ever actually leave their home or look outside. You can bike in this city every month of the year and almost every week of the year. We only had a short period where temperatures went as low as -20° this winter, and only a couple of big snow falls. and the snow wouldn't have been a problem if it had been cleared away. We're still out there biking, and there's only going to be more and more of us as the days get longer and the temperatures rise.
