All my videos on this game are here: • House of Rules Truly an L for the lesbians 💔 Ok but for real, I should go over my thoughts and stuff. But phew, it's a lot. Let's see... Most of what we saw in the game was hallucinations. Still, I think there's only so much our mind can make up. Like the rules book additions: why would Alexis be using something to cause hallucinations that would work against her? I guess she wouldn't have known. So, I think maybe the spirits of those who died before us left the subitems along with each individual scrap of paper. The first victim, and possibly the first few victims, were probably just naturally curious. And, this might be a stretch, but some could've died from not following some of the advice that's given in the subitems; leading to them showing up along with the original rule after they died. Like exploring or by stealing one of the main cast's stuff. Ahhh idk. I think some stuff may have just been coincidence, but I don't think you can chalk everything up to being hallucinations. Next, just the characters in general. Some of their more...concerning...statements were just missing context. Red text, sound effects, wording and missing context all painted a completely different picture. The character we name, labelled as "You", is still separate from the player somewhat. It's a story, so of course things won't align perfectly. These highlighted moments from all the main cast is something the MC chooses to pick up on. And yeah, some of it is concerning. Some nuance can be applied to understand that their words just may be being misunderstood. Colin is just awkward and loves her family deeply, Ruth doesn't regret her choices (and for good reason), Greta obviously wouldn't want her old wedding ring cause of her abusive (ex-)husband, Pam has been through a lot is a no-nonsense type, Alexis is... Of course she's the most at fault here. All of their motives in present time falls under their love and respect for Lady Jane. Since Lady Jane is gone, and everyone respected Alexis as well, she is the head of power here. And I can empathize with Alexis, the one considered the "villain". But honestly after Lady Jane killed herself after being revived, that should've been the end of it. It shows Alexis true nature of selfishness. Yet she was very desperate... Ahh, the characters are really well done! And finally, just some smaller stuff. The cat?? I was confused but honestly I think it's the dev's self-insert of their mascot. It doesn't play a big part in the story, just to cause some mischief. Ah, I'm not great at measuring pacing, but I feel the story was fine at its length?? Um, puzzles were good. Some were hard for me, but not like extremely hard. Music was good. Sounds I'm a bit iffy on, as I mentioned in the first part. Some sounds I feel could be turned down some. Menu sounds were nice though~ UI: main menu, other menu, save menu, text box, etc. were very nice!! Graphics did not disappoint! Hope I didn't misremember stuff cause I played the game early last month (Also my memory is bad). Anyways, I think that's all. Sorry for typing so much,,,
