Today’s vlog begins inside our hostel, where the day started unexpectedly. I was fast asleep when a friend suddenly woke me up with a reminder — we had to go out to buy an electric bike. Still half-asleep but excited, I got ready, picked up the camera, and stepped out to begin the day. We were five friends heading out together on two bikes, leaving the hostel gates behind and riding through the familiar streets of the city. On the way, we spotted the shared electric bikes that are everywhere across China — simply scan the QR code with Alipay, ride anywhere, and park it for the next person. It’s a fascinating system that shows how technology blends into daily life here. As we continued riding, we passed our usual grocery mart — the same place where we buy kitchen essentials for hostel cooking — and moved further toward the lake area, where an electric bike shop stood before the waterfront. We checked several new bikes there, but their prices were far beyond our budget. Since we were looking for a good used e-bike, we decided to keep searching. Then came one of the most beautiful moments of the day — the lake. The sun had risen fully, and its golden reflection was touching the water, creating a peaceful cinematic view that made the whole ride worth it. Crossing the large bridge ahead, we reached another electric bike market on the other side — much bigger, with a wide selection of both new and used bikes. After exploring many options, one bike immediately stood out. While my friend inspected another, I noticed a sleek single-rider model that I personally loved for its design. The shop owner explained it used a high-range lithium battery, which meant a much higher price, so we had to let that one go. Eventually, we chose a practical and good-condition bike that fit our needs perfectly — and after some discussion, the deal was finalized at 780 yuan. Before heading back, we took the bike for servicing to ensure everything was ready. Then we rode again along the lake, enjoying the view once more, and stopped at our usual mart to buy kitchen supplies. There was pork available there, but as Muslims we only eat halal food, so we carefully selected suitable items before returning to the hostel. That’s how our day unfolded — from a sudden wake-up call to buying a new ride and enjoying peaceful moments by the lake.
