It was composed in 1938 by the conductor of the Finance Guard Musical Band, maestro captain Antonio D'Elia. Present in the repertoire of all the Italian Armed Forces and Order Forces, it is especially associated with the Finance Guard and its Band, so much so that it is often mistaken as the Corps' official march.
