Welcome back to another Monday Night Rant. I have a slight bone to pick was the company AlphaThea/Pioneer DJ. They have launched DJ Controllers and replaced or updated past ones. The one they have not done is for the DDJ 800. I was wondering when will they come out with a controller to replace or upgrade. This is my plea to the company to have been the "industry standard" in DJ hardware and software. The controllers from Pioneer DJ/AlphaThea were launched between 2022 and 2024. The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 was launched in November 2022. This two-channel DJ controller is designed for beginner to intermediate DJs and includes compatibility with both rekordbox and Serato software. It allows users to mix using files from their devices or tracks from streaming services like TIDAL, Beatport, and SoundCloud. Key features include Smart Fader for easy mixing, a portable design, and USB-C compatibility for convenient connectivity across devices. It replaces the DDJ 400. DDJ-FLX10 – Launched in April 2023, this 4-channel DJ controller for rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro introduced Track Separation technology, allowing DJs to isolate and control vocals, drums, and other elements of a track. It was popular for live remixes and mashups without pre-editing songs. It was an upgrade to DDJ1000 and DDJ 1000SRT. The Pioneer DJ DDJ-GRV6, developed by AlphaTheta, was launched on October 8, 2024. This 4-channel DJ controller introduces innovative features like the "Groove Circuit," which allows DJs to remix drum elements live and supports effects manipulation via Serato DJ Pro's Stems FX, enabling dynamic control over individual track components (e.g., drums, bass, vocals). The controller is compatible with both Rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, offering versatile device integration for DJs using computers or mobile setups, making it highly adaptable for various performance settings. It was an upgrade to the FLX6 and FLX6GT. The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX2 was launched in October 2024. This compact two-channel controller is designed to be portable and user-friendly, especially for beginners. It includes features like Smart Fader for seamless transitions, Smart CFX for easy effects, and compatibility with popular DJ software like Rekordbox and Serato DJ. Its lightweight build and USB-C or Bluetooth connectivity make it an accessible choice for DJs on the go. It replaces DDJ200. How would I want the DDJ FLX8 to be? The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX8 is a mid-range, two-channel controller compatible with both Rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, and it includes advanced features for live remixing and creative DJing. Key specifications must include: • Track Separation: This allows DJs to isolate and control individual parts of a track (vocals, drums, instruments) with dedicated buttons, making it easier to create live mashups. • Mix Point Link: A new feature enabling seamless transitions by linking cue points between tracks. • Jog Wheel Display: Expanded with four modes (waveform, artwork, deck info, and custom logo), enhancing visual feedback for performances. Same size as the DDJ800. • FX and Sound Color FX: Includes a variety of effects such as "Stretch" for beat effects and "Space" reverb, adding depth to sets. • Build and Crossfader: A four-sensor Magvel fader for precise control. • It must include USB-C connectivity, DMX output for lighting control, and multiple audio inputs and outputs, including two mic inputs (XLR and 1/4" jack) and dual USB-C ports for flexibility during live performances I also will be tagging AlphThea's Authorized Demotrator Pri Yon Joni.
