over 4+ years of playing jtoh, i never thought i would beat an Unreal difficulty tower. when i beat togf in 2021, i thought that would be the only cata i’d ever beat. when i beat toer in summer of 2023 i thought that was my limit. towards the end of the year i tried tocp for fun and it wasn't as hard as i thought so i started grinding it. i beat it in 6 days. having beaten the hardest canon tower in jtoh, i thought i should try some horrifics like tovh. i also started all jumping coiv many times for fun, after seeing the first few victors beat it. i beat tovh even quicker than i did with tocp (3-4 days) but i used skips so it def wasn't a horrific completion. i didn't want to rebeat it fl, so i tried towm but couldn't even get do floor 1. toev and totrp were out because toev is incredibly long/tedious/boring, and totrp is jank gameplay which im not the best at. atp i made a crazy decision and decided to jump from ToCP to CoIV, but it didn't seem that outrageous to me at the time bc all jumping it was very fun and i already got to 3 back in October. I started grinding CoIV seriously and got to 4 for the first time the day after i beat tovh. i spent 2 days pretty much loopfailing 4 until i finally got to 5 after around 15 fails. unfortunately i would take over a week to get to 6. it took me another week to get to floor 7 and around 2 more weeks to get to 8. a week later i finally managed to get to floor 11. i somehow failed 11a but miraculously got another 11 run the next day and i got to 11 outside. the grind was looking pretty short but sadly i proceeded to not get another 11 run for around 3 weeks, and when i finally did i failed purist hell. i ended up not getting another 11 run for OVER A MONTH, and when i finally did i failed purist hell again (but couldn't even get to my pb). a week later i finally managed to get past purist hell, and i would've gotten to 12 since conveyor hell is netted. sadley i had to sleep so i tried afking over night, but was disconnected the next day. i asked blocker for a tp and he graciously gave me one, and i ended up failing the end of the final stretch. even then, i was pretty glad i failed because my completion wouldn't be legit since i practiced 12 prior to getting tped. i also didn't have any nerves anymore due to the tp. i was determined on getting to 12 completely by myself and a week later, on 6/8/2024, i did. i then pulled off one of the biggest flukes of my life, not failing 12 despite the ridiculous nerves i had. I still can't believe i've beaten this. This will prob be my greatest accomplishment forever, as spending hundreds of hours grinding towers is not an efficient use of time and not something that i really enjoy either. this is easily my worst grind ever and wasn't enjoyable at all despite me taking way less time than many other victors and getting pretty lucky in comparison with them. i've made history as the first person to jump from a cata to an unreal. I think i've hit my limit as an obbyist, i've completed pretty much everything i wanted to do and im extremely satisfied, with the exception of ToWM, def doing that next since I already got to 9 end and its also insanely fun. But after that, I doubt i'll seriously grind anything ever again. please wish a massive good luck to ​⁠‪@greenbean1421‬, he literally failed the last jump and deserves to beat this more than anyone else. and big good luck to anyone who decides to grind this/is currently grinding.
