Week 9 of 10 in this build to the NYC marathon. The taper is in full swing, which means less miles and shorter workouts. On Tuesday we did 2x4 miles at just faster than marathon pace. It felt good to be in a good groove with Conner. On Wednesday we did our second day of shoe testing in the BYU Biomechanics lab with Dr. Iain Hunter. Lab testing combined with the Stryd data has been super helpful to determine what the best ASICS racing shoe is for me. On Thursday we did 8x800 on the track. This workout didn’t come easy. Not sure why. I hit the times, but some days it takes all you got. The good news is I am racing a marathon, not an 800. Thanks to Stryd for powering this episode. Between the threshold work on Tuesday and the lab testing on Wednesday, I had plenty of data from Stryd to geek out about and see how my body is adapting to training and how it is responding to different ASICS prototype shoes. Check out more about Stryd here: https://dub.sh/1woumEm I'm excited to race the New York City Marathon on November 3rd, 2024. With only 12 weeks between the Paris Olympic Marathon and the NYC Marathon, I knew that I would have to find the balance between recovery and building fitness. Thanks for following along.
