I Tried The Monk Cleaning Method For 9 Months – The Changes Surprised Me Nine months after trying Shoukei Matsumoto’s A Monk’s Guide to a Clean House and Mind, I’ve realized it’s not about following every rule perfectly. It’s about finding the habits that truly bring peace, simplicity, and flow into my life. In this video, I’m sharing what I actually kept from the monk cleaning method, which habit didn’t stick, and how I’ve adapted Matsumoto’s mindful techniques to fit a busy, modern lifestyle. If you’ve ever wondered how to bring more calm and intention into your home, without feeling overwhelmed, this video is for you. I’ll take you through the simple daily habits that help me most, from staying on top of laundry and tidying up to creating spaces that actually feel calm and peaceful. As the day slowed down, I made a cup of passion fruit tea and sat for a moment, just reflecting on the changes these past months have brought. For dinner I´ve made a bowl of light summer pasta with homemade pesto, the kind of small ritual that makes a day feel complete. Have you tried any of Shoukei Matsumoto’s tips or other mindful cleaning routines? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear what’s worked for you! 🛋️ If you love: • Slow-living and cozy routines • Self-care habits to reset your day • Early mornings and countryside vlogs • Homemaking inspiration and mindful living • Simple steps to elevate your everyday life …then subscribe for more 5AM routines, cozy farmhouse vlogs, and slow-living content that will help you create calm, peaceful days. 🎬 TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Preview 00:20 Getting up early 01:08 2-Minute morning cleaning 03:57 Treating objects with gratitude 05:03 2-Minute Daily Reset 06:06 The habit I didn´t follow 100% 06:48 A workspace that breathes 08:33 A cup of passion fruit tea 09:55 Light summer pasta with homemade pesto 🍅 TOMATO PESTO Ingredients: • 100 g (1¾ cups) dried tomatoes • 160 g (2 cups) Parmesan • 25 g (3 tbsp) pine nuts • 70 g (½ cup) tomatoes • 150 g (⅔ cup) olive oil Instructions: 1.
