Buenavista Rural Club This week sees us getting ready for a long hot summer in Tenerife. Ever improving our water supply to all corners of the farm, we are constantly battling the drought in our tropical paradise. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: An abandoned stone farmhouse, off-grid, 248,000 sq m of farm (on a 48 hectare estate) in Tenerife. Follow our journey as we clear the land of a thorny problem: blackberry brambles and giant weeds. The 150-year-old farmhouse has been abandoned for over 50 years. No electricity, no water, no sanitation and very dangerous roofs. This is about the conversion of Buenavista Rural Club. A place where young adults will be able to come on holiday to Tenerife and stay in nearby hostels, spending their days on the farm learning about renewable energy - solar and wind - how to find water, grow crops, look after animals, whilst participating in a Reality TV Show released once a week on this YouTube channel. Visitors of all ages can come and enjoy walks of different skill and fitness levels. Monte de las Aguas means the mountain of the waters. The weather in this part of the island can be very hot during the day and cool at night. The area enjoys a micro climate that can change rapidly from dry to wet and from hot to cold.
