"The Battle of Waterloo", "A Man's a Man for A' That", and "The Haughs of Cromdale" played on the Scottish small pipes with geegaw accompaniment. The first is a pipe version of "Napoleon Crossing the Alps." The second is the melody to one of Robert Burns' songs. The third is the melody to a song from the Northeast of Scotland. All of these melodies are Traditional. Almost every culture in the world has its own lamellophone, the family of musical instruments that makes its sound by a thin vibrating plate called a lamella or tongue, which is fixed at one end and free at the other end. The geegaw is also known as a tromp, jews harp, juice harp and guimbarde. These pipes were made by Ray Sloan, the famous pipe maker of Northumberland.
