The Goldburst finish was a very shortly lived finish. There were lots of issues with the finish orange peeling and many were refinished under factory warranty. Nowadays, it's nearly impossible to find one in all original and clean shape without areas of missing finish - especially on the neck. I see '50' get quoted a lot as to how many of these were made, but I've seen a fair amount of them, so I believe there are more than that, but less than 400 - that's just speculation on my part though.
