Stats to remember Wales has a procurement spend of approximately £11 billion annually, with a strong emphasis on Social Value. Northern Ireland's procurement spend is around £3 billion, with 80% directed to SMEs. Manchester has implemented a 30% weighting for Social Value and environmental considerations. In Scotland, 28 out of the 32 local authorities are exploring or driving forward community wealth building. Key themes and insights Social Value is critical not only for maximising financial benefits but also for improving societal outcomes in local communities. Political will and support are essential for advancing Social Value policies. The importance of collaboration between public, private, and voluntary sectors to effectively implement Social Value strategies.
