It will slow you down and calm your body in times of stress and anxiety. It will help you to ride the waves of whatever you're feeling. Thats what Yin Yoga is for! We all wrestle with uncomfortable emotions sometimes but what if you had a go to practice to help? Lets look at it this way - if distracting from the emotion, ignoring it and trying to control it / push it away really worked then we would all be walking around feeling great all the time. RESISTING DOESNT WORK! This is where Yin Yoga comes in. Yin Yoga is the art of surrender. The art of letting go and is everything you and your body needs at these times. It is suitable for all and the effects last long after the Practice. In this hour I am going to teach you to: find relief in putting down the struggle and fight for control safely be with your emotions nurture emotions and help them to move on gain transformative insight from your emotions I have been practicing and teaching Yin Yoga for years and I can tell you the more you do it the better your body gets at knowing how to relax and let go. You are essentially teaching your body a new skill.... how to relax and release! Each posture is passive (we relax into it gradually) for between 3-5 mins. The safer the body feels the more it will let go and so there will be plenty of options and alterations to allow the posture to feel just right.
