'There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.' - Henry James (Portrait of a Lady) Link to Christmas Fruits Cake: • Christmas Fruit Cake- Ultimate Rich, Moist... Dear viewers, I've been planning this special Christmas episode for long, and glad that I can share it with you today. Today's video is all about a classic British food tradition - The afternoon tea, with a Christmas theme. Afternoon tea is a mid-day light meal usually served between 3pm - 5pm. (I'm not going into the historical details of the ceremony. You can check it yourself, in case it's new to you and you want to know more about it.) The meal consists of three courses served on a tiered stand - dainty savouries (small bites), freshly baked scones (with clotted cream and jam) and cakes and pastries (sweets), which comes with a pot of tea. Although the afternoon tea ritual can appear to be a daunting task, it's actually quite simple if you plan in advance. The video: 1. Lists down all important elements of the tea ceremony. 2. Offers a guideline to the kind of food that can be served. 3. Gives step-by-step, easy to follow instructions to set up the table and 4. Features basic afternoon tea etiquette. This occasional luxury is a great way to catch up with friends or celebrate bridal and baby showers. I've incorporated three popular Christmas songs (Deck the halls, Joy to the world and Jingle bells) played on the piano by my kid. He learned them specifically for this video. Kindly ignore any imperfections, due to lack of practice and time. Special note of thanks to his piano mentor Mr. Jon Paul for guiding him. Hope you're filled with happiness and positivity after watching this video and also plan a relaxing afternoon tea treat for yourself and your loved ones soon. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
