Apple Pie Crust Ingredients : • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour • 3/4 cup butter, cold and cubed • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening, cold • 1/4 cup brown or white sugar • 3 large egg yolks only • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1/4 tsp iodized salt • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder • 1 tbsp cold water Filling Ingredients: • 3 to 6 pcs of apples, medium size, peeled and diced • 1/4 cup brown sugar • 2 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour • 1 zest of an orange • Half of an orange juice but if your using 6 apples, use all the juice of the orange • 1 tsp cinnamon powder • 1/4 tsp iodized salt • 2 tbsp tap water Egg wash: • 1 egg beaten • 1 tbsp water or milk • Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour. • Put the pie pan in a bigger baking sheet to help you turn it around inside the oven . • Preheat oven at 180⁰C for 15 minutes, then bake for 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of your pan or pieces of apples or until the top turns golden brown. Make sure to watch for it after 40 minutes. • Turn the pan around halfway through around 30 mins for even cooking. • Let it cool before slicing.
