In part three i decided to open up the transfer port, which is the recommended option on the full tune. It makes the rifle a lot more efficient, but also means taming the extra power it will produce. Reducing the extra power can include combinations of valve spring packing, hammer spring and spacer reduction in the hammer housing and lowering the regulator pressure. This makes the rifle a lot more efficient and should give a lot more shots than without doing this extra part of the tune. As can be seen before this work, I had a job to get much above 10 ft/lbs, even after adjusting the hammer spring, but after initial transfer port opening to 3mm it then added 7 ft/lbs that then needed taming. By the end of this video you will see how I got to where I needed to be. In part four I will give it the last fine tune and include range tests, but as with the Hatsan Gladius, it should all be worth while in the end. I am hoping that with the final tune the rifle should be shooting 200+ consistant shots, like the Hatsan Gladius now does.
