[ 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚: 05/1/2025 ] Talk about the third gem elevators in a posh hotel discovered to be getting upgraded! I looked over from the convention centre elevators to find the main hotel lifts—Schindler 500 Ps from 2005—now sporting KONE KDS 330 indicators, so after a gasp of anguish I quickly went over to check it out. What I ended up documenting is arguably the best of the three lift upgrades, mainly because this one was actually a full replacement into KONE EcoDiscs! I'm not entirely sure if they're MonoSpaces (MRL) or MiniSpaces (MR/MMR), but given the sensible decision would be to reuse the existing motor rooms, I imagine they would've just put MiniSpaces in (would make sense for the rise too). And.... I really should be happier about this—after all, these are only my third elevators found with KDS 330 dot-matrix indicators inside—but it's very bittersweet considering the quality of elevator these replaced. Still, I won't deny — this is undoubtedly top-notch. The gold cab makes these feel a lot more posh than they are, and these have employed a similar indicator layout to Westfield Newmarket, that puts the LCD "advertising" indicator to one side so that the LED indicator can get the full spotlight. Unfortunately, it seems that for this intermittent period, while the rightmost lift is still being done up, even level 1 is locked off (completely disabled, in fact), which means had it not been for the two hitchhikes I managed, I would not have gotten a ride in these at all.... I do find it interesting that these dot-matrix overhead indicators emit the KSS 570/670 chime, as opposed to the LCD overhead indicators which sound the OTIS-like chime instead… My only other gripe is the phone button being worryingly placed in between 1 & 3, making it very susceptible to being pressed by accident. But other than that, I don't see anything wrong with these lifts at all! I just....wish I could ride the 500 Ps as well 😅😢 (And now the Miconic TX-GC chime disappears once again from the public eye…) This video is © T3224 Elevators 2025.
