Thanks to Woodland Trust from whose livestream I took this clip. Check out their live camera supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery at https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/ospreys This unedited long clip shows female Blue 152 (now named Affric, see below) arriving at 15.16.57, quickly followed by an unringed male. Looks like the Stranger who briefly occupied the nest from his first visit on 7th April until Louis returned on 11th April. They spend a long time on the nest, there are a couple of mating attempts and Blue 152 calls continuously but he doesn't take the hint to go fishing. He eventually departs at 16.20, flying off to the left while she remains for a few more minutes before departing at 16.24.36 flying centre of the screen towards the loch. UPDATE 18/5/2021 - Blue 152 background info: Blue 152 is one of a brood of two females and a male ringed on 5 July 2018 in Glen Affric, which is about 25-30 miles (as the osprey flies) due north of Loch Arkaig. Glen Affric is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland and home to some very spectacular ancient Caledonian pinewood. This is the first sighting of her or any of that brood since ringing so the ringer was very pleased to hear about her. She has been named Affric in honour of her natal area. 2020 season highlights: • The good, the bad, and the OMG! Loch ... 2019 season highlights: • Talons and tantrums, feathers and fin...
