Marcus Gentillon – Flute Alexander Alani – Oboe Tyree Nesbitt – Tenor Saxophone Adam Schreiber - Cello “Tango of the Troupple King” from Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove Composed by Jake Kaufman (2014) Arranged by Niko Slaughter (2023) "There were a couple factors that led to me picking this piece to arrange. For one thing, I had been playing a lot of Shovel Knight at the time, and I actually 100%-ed the four main campaigns a few days before writing this arrangement (thank you, thank you, hold your applause), and so I was very much in the mood to arrange a piece from the game’s soundtrack. Kaufman’s writing is some of my favorite in terms of video game music, and I love how much he is able to accomplish with the limitations of a retro, chiptune sound. As for what inspired me to pick “Tango of the Troupple King” specifically, there are a few reasons there too. It plays in a very memorable moment in the Plague of Shadows campaign, where The Troupple King (a creature that is a cross between a large trout and an apple) shows the protagonist, Plague Knight, how to dance. The cutscene is complete with choreography and fish flying in time with the music. It’s just so full of whimsy, I love it. The music that plays is very iconic, and it’s also short (which was another reason for me picking it)." -Niko Slaughter
