For a while I had been wanting to head up to Bangor, ME to chase CSX L072 up to Mattawamkeag, ME and back down to Bangor. I had been putting this off due to it being a nearly two hour drive I'd have to get up rather early for but eventually I made the trip up on September 10th. My plan was to wait at an overpass in Veazie, ME for L072e to roll under, and then chase from there. I hadn't the slightest clue as to what power would greet me, and I would be very pleasantly surprised by a duo of CSX CM40-8W's CSXT 7799, and CSXT 7774, and behind them the very last Guilford Rail System painted locomotive in service on CSX, MEC 507 (GP40-2LW). I would chase this set of power up to Mattawamkeag, and watch EMR 909 with a duo of SD70M-2's work the area. Then I would watch MEC 507 roll out of keag with a fairly sized train. The chase was on from Mattawamkeag all the way back to Bangor.
