CalTrain F40PH Locomotive Farewell

In the 1980s, the California Department of Transportation purchased 20 new F40PH-2 type diesel electric locomotives for the CalTrain commuter rail service. In 2024, CalTrain electrified the San Jose to San Francisco rail corridor and announced that all diesel hauled trains would be replaced with new electrical multiple unit train sets in September of 2024. In this video, we will give one final farewell to the original 20 Caltrain F40 locomotives as we go through every unit from 900 through 919 in numerical order.
