ACTION AND EXCITEMENT… is in the thumbnail only and is otherwise sadly lacking in this, an exercise in how me and Trevor installed kitchen electrics with no flimmin’ measured plan and a client who moved the goalposts after first-fix. We actually finished at the Manor House a year ago last week and this video was supposed to be edited last Christmas, but… meh. I got drunk and just couldn’t be bothered. We were back in May ’21 for some garden lighting shenanigans which got glued onto the end, so that’s a bonus for your having to wait a year to see how it all turned out… if indeed, you view additional footage of us as being a positive in any kind of way, shape or form. Now we really are done there, at least until the kitchen is knocked down, but that may be a year or three away. It’s another long ‘un. For every person who says my videos are too long, I get messages from people asking me to cut less out. Still, nobody ever said you had to watch it. In fact, I wouldn't bother if I were you. There’s a lot here of me and Hilary discussing her new kitchen layout which I was going to excise from the edit, but this is an example of the type of job we sometimes walk into: not everything has a measured plan and a client who knows exactly what they want, and this video shows how we go about getting the data we need to get on with throwing in the first-fix… …which then all went to cock anyway as she ditched a 600mm kitchen unit in favour of one half the size leaving our accessories kinda out of place, although the fitter managed to work around them for a successful outcome. Stupidity: At 10:32, Nigel foolishly handles live equipment without observing safe isolation. Rest assured; he was reprimanded off camera and cried for ages about his smacked bottom which is why the scene was cut at this point. There are also scenes where Nige uses an SDS chisel and a multitool without goggles or ear defenders. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks… or a stubborn Brexit voter common sense.
