All The Basses 003: Epiphone Newport Vintage Shortscale Bass // Serek Basses

All the Basses is a side project dedicated to showcasing some of the perhaps lesser known basses of years gone by. I do not claim to be a bass historian, I merely want to highlight some of the more interesting aspects of these instruments, and to showcase their tonality. On this installment, we are looking at a 1961 Epiphone Newport shortscale bass. It features a bakelite-covered Mudbucker with a truly muddy, but FAT tone. This bass has style for days, and while it is tonally a one-trick pony, it is still a complete gas to play.
