How to quickly fix a CO2 aquarium diffuser in an emergency. edwardsdeacon • 11 hours ago (edited) I have attempted the method of the guy who promotes deep sand beds with amendments and both aquariums I done that in ended up smelling like sewage and with in a a few days I lost all the livestock ( very expensive) and within two weeks I lost all plants. The bottom layer ( 1/4”) or so of the substrate was a slimy purple, green, black mess. I have perched a few hundred dollars worth of the centered glass media from the chap across the pond and I have to continuously have to scrub it against itself to scrub off the gunk the grows on it and clogs up the pores. I even had a email conversation with the guy and he was full of advice and conversation until I asked why doesn’t he do a video demonstrating his product against it’s two biggest competitors ( Marinepure and Brightwell ) and a natural competitor like Pumice. I’m still waiting for a response. ️ I would throw it in the trash but I paid a lot of money for it and there aren’t my product that can be used in a trickle filter being used for large South American Cichlids. Which by the way I have been using some media bags full of the BCB basket mixture you made a video on and there has been a huge change in the temperament and coloration of my fish. I also have Golden Pothos as do sweet potato/yam slits. As least they work very well in those tanks I have mine in. Now the two 55’s I used for the deep sand bed/ darted tank method have been switched over to slow plenum with H.O.B. Filters filled with media beads of the BCB mixture. Time will tell how it turns out but this method is backed by science and I’m sure it will work. I have 13 tanks-11 of then running and I been in this hobby since the mid 1980’s. I’m not quitting I know patients is key in this hobby as is finding the perfect balance of science and nature. Thank you for your videos they are appreciated.
