Episode 29 In this episode we continue with part 2, the case for and against the angelic view of Genesis 6. We are up to Reason 7, Angels having sexual relations with humans is not a mythological story. We agreed that the Bible does not contain mythological stories, but we also emphasized in our response there is no reason to believe in angelic involvement in Genesis 6. We also looked at Reason 8, namely, Satan wanted to corrupt the seed of the woman. We agreed that this has been his goal, however, every attempt to do so in Scripture has him attempting to do it through humans, never through any non-humans personages. Reason 9 argues that the sin of angels gives an appropriate reason for the Lord sending the Flood. We responded by noting that it is only humans who are condemned in Genesis for their sin, never once angels! Finally, Reason 10 argued that the Nephilim, these gigantic creatures, were the result of the Sons of God having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind. However, we responded by saying that the Nephilim were on the earth before these two groups got together.
