LYNN ON FIRE AS ROVERS MAKE HISTORY 🏆 Saturday 30th August 2025 Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round EYNESBURY ROVERS 3 ARLESEY TOWN 1 Eynesbury Rovers won their third FA Cup tie of the season (a club record) to reach the Second Qualifying Round for the first time since the 1995/96 season in front of 208 spectators. Their opponents, Arlesey Town, were on a 17 match unbeaten run stretching back to February and were the third Spartan South Midlands League side that Eynesbury Rovers defeated in this FA Cup run. Lewis Lynn continued his rich goalscoring vein with two goals as he took his tally to 5 goals in his last 3 matches, however Rovers had to come from behind to win after trailing 1-0 at the break. Rovers had started brightly as early shots by Lewis Lynn and Victor Osobu were blocked by defenders, but it was the visitors who took a 12th minute lead. Alie Bangura’s low ball across the penalty area from the left wing was tucked in at the back post by Taylor Keely. Rovers had goalkeeper James Hoskins to thank as he produced two excellent saves; diving low to his right to palm away a close range shot and tipping over a header from former Rovers striker Jordan Brown. Soon after Hoskins again denied Brown as he came off his line to block his shot. Just two minutes into the second half Eynesbury drew level. A move down the right flank finished with Lynn setting up Luke Young who fired the ball home. Arlesey’s cause wasn’t help when Dion Miftari was shown a red card after an incident with Erald Memaj in the 55th minute and then ten minutes later Rovers were awarded a penalty when Lamin Bangura felled Reece King as he burst into the penalty area. Despite getting a hand to the ball Oliver Skinner could not prevent Lewis Lynn from putting the hosts ahead. Rovers secured the win in the 85th minute when Victor Osobu pulled the ball back from the bye-line, Luke Young let it run through to Lewis Lynn to fire home his second and Rovers third. The draw for the 2nd Qualifying Round takes place at 1pm on Monday 1st September. Next up Rovers return to league action when they host Yaxley on Saturday 6th September, kick off 3.00pm. #MatchReport
