After a supernatural event called the "Death Stranding" destroyed America, Bridges was founded to rebuild America. Sam was hired to make it happen. Through deliveries and fighting BTs (Beached Things), America is reconnected one package at a time. In the game, BTs are monsters caused by the Death Stranding. Make any contact with them and they will cause a voidout; a crater. Timefall is the "rain" in the game; anything it touches will accelerate the aging.
