Hey all. We just got back from Colorado and a friend contacted us about two Clydesdale mares he has so we jumped back in our old green chevy truck the following morning and head up to his place to look at them both . One is a beautiful, black registered 5 year old mare. She is trained to drive and ride. The other is an older mare, 15 to 20 who is having some hoof issues. She was diagnosed with severe thrust/canker. The owner has been taking care of her the best he can but has had some life changes and can no longer put the time and care in to her that she needs. He has asked us if we would home her and take over the care. We have decide to purchase the 5 year old mare ourselves and he is giving us the older mare in hopes she can heal. We do not know if surgery is necessary at this point but we plan to take her to our equine vet asap and figure all that out .
