A quick and easy counter surveillance trick taught by a surveillance professional.

How can you tell if someone is following you? First of all, make sure you are doing the basic check to see if you are being followed. Is someone behind you and following you turn for turn as you drive? That's the most obvious sign that you are being followed and that will work for the untrained amateur that's trying to tail you. But... One counter measure you can use is to look for the same vehicle showing up over and over again even if you haven’t seen it following you! But how can you tell that the dark blue Toyota you think you've seen twice before is the same one you think you see now down the block from your house? Here's the trick... Note the license plate number. And if that's too hard to remember (or catch) – and here's the trick – just note the last two digits of the plate number! This is not a foolproof method, but it's a quick and easy “hack” and here's why... The odds that two random vehicle have the same last two digits is only about 1%. Right? The odds that a random two digit number is the same as another random two digit number is only 1 in 100. Of course that doesn't mean it's following you, but it does mean you need to give it more attention from a counter surveillance perspective.
