Total Systems Blackout Following the nuclear detonation and the massive EMP that hit the Nova Espero, the players face a "cold" ship. The Problem: The EMP has fried most primary electronics and sent the reactor and FTL drive into a low-power safety reset mode. The Stakes: Glenn (Ken) must find a way to bypass or repair fried circuitry to restore life support and propulsion, as the ship is currently drifting and powerless. 2. Uncontrolled Rotation (The Tumble) The ship is currently spinning out of control in geostationary orbit. The Problem: The crew is trapped in a loss of attitude control (LOAC) state. Without the automated RCS (Reaction Control System) to stabilize the hull, the ship is tumbling randomly. The Stakes: This causes extreme disorientation and nausea for the crew. Mark 0 (Sketch) and Arthur (John) must physically secure themselves and the NPCs (Ivy, Roger, etc.) to prevent injury from being tossed around the cabin in zero-G as the ship spins. 3. Navigation through a Debris Field The explosion didn't just disable the ship; it destroyed the nearby Campus Station. The Problem: The space station is now in "a couple of pieces," with its massive ring shattered. The Stakes: As the Nova Espero tumbles, the players face the threat of colliding with high-velocity station debris. They are effectively "blind" without functional sensors, relying only on what they can see through the viewports during each rotation. 4. Psychological and Paranormal Stress The crew is not alone in the dark. The Problem: Just before the blackout, Arthur (John) encountered a spectral apparition of the "vampire zombie" creature. The Stakes: With the lights out and the ship in silence, the players must face the psychological horror of whether the creature is still on board and physically manifested, or if the "sweet saccharine voice" Arthur heard was a hallucination caused by the stress of the blast. 5. Stranded NPCs and Failed Evacuation The plan to escape via the dropship has been compromised. The Problem: The dropship is also powerless and likely disconnected from the Nova Espero's main computer, Ian. The Stakes: The players are responsible for a group of NPCs who are now terrified and trapped in various parts of the ship (the Hangar, the Captain's Cabin, and the Stow Rooms). The crew must coordinate a manual recovery in the dark to ensure no one is left behind or killed by shifting cargo.
