A walk along Split's beautiful promenade offers great views of the harbor and the glittering Adriatic Sea. The Riva is a wide, lively promenade lined with palm trees and lined with busy bars and cafes and benches overlooking the sea. People meet here at all hours of the day and night, and there's always something going on. Listen to live music in a bar, watch street performers, or watch boats sail in and out of the harbor while enjoying a cup of coffee. This promenade has existed since Diocletian's Palace was built about 1700 years ago. It was renovated and modernized in 2005. Locals were divided on the remodeling, with some praising the new, modern design and others lamenting the loss of the old atmosphere. The best way to see for yourself is to take a walk along the promenade. The Riva is 250 meters long in total. From there you can enter the old Roman fortress, Diocletian's Palace, through the bronze gate. If you follow the promenade in a westerly direction, you will pass a number of lively cafes and bars. Drinking coffee and chatting is simply a part of life in Split. Locals often gather for this here on the Riva, which acts as the social hub of the city. If you want to take a break, the benches and deck chairs are perfect, some of which are even shaded by overhanging palm trees. From there, you can let your eyes roam over the water and the ships anchored in the nearby harbor. In this bustling harbor, you're likely to see everything from small fishing boats to cruise ships. Be sure to experience this neighborhood at night, when the atmosphere here is completely different and full of energy. Enjoy fresh seafood at a restaurant, or toast the past day at a bar with local revellers. The official name of the promenade is Obala hrvatskog narodnog preporoda (Quay of the Revival of the Croatian Nation), but it is commonly referred to as the Riva. The Riva runs along the south side of Diocletian's Palace in the old town of Split. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equipment I Use ►Camera: https://amzn.to/49b7RTf ►Gimbal Stabilizer: https://amzn.to/45QX25N ►Microphone: https://amzn.to/3sl7IMw ►Action Cam: https://amzn.to/3QyEhQa ►Extension Rod: https://amzn.to/3MlxAOY ►Memory Card https://amzn.to/3QOTZHj ►Drone: https://amzn.to/3SffEJL ►Laptop: https://amzn.to/3FGYP2C ►External Hard Drive: https://amzn.to/40kQQ51 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- English title: A walk around the Riva promenade in Split | Trip to Croatia 2022 #split #croatia #riva
