Yumnam Khemchand Singh took oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur, bringing back an elected government after nearly a year of President’s Rule. Leaders from the Kuki and Naga communities were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers, showing an effort to include different groups. Earlier, he met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to claim support for a BJP-led NDA government with the backing of BJP, NPP and NPF MLAs.
