Willie Loomis, criminal and drifter, comes to Collinsport, Maine with his friend (and con-buddy) Jason McGuire. Greedy and despicable, Willie goes to the Collins family mausoleum to go grave-robbing. What he finds, instead, is a 160 year old vampire, Barnabas Collins- whom he releases. Willie Loomis, becomes the slave of Barnabas, powerless to stop the evil that Barnabas commits- not having control over his own will or destiny. Barnabas kidnaps Maggie Evans, a girl whom Willie fancies, and Barnabas attempts to recreate his lost-love Josette Dupres. Willie is remorseful for his past actions, sentenced to his own private punishment that he has to live in daily- a life as a slave and prisoner of the "respectable" Barnabas Collins whom the town believes merely hired Willie as his servant. Friendless and pitiful for a while, He eventually accepts his life as it is, becoming bolder and less cowardly; Willie tries his best to prevent Barnabas from carrying out his plans.
