The Christmas railtours under the railway touring company have begun in true festive fashion as, hopefully not the first, cold spell grips the UK. After the unfortunate disappointment of the Armistice Steam Express not venturing to Sussex due to Network Rail relying track in Ore Tunnel, 44871 would grace the Sunshine Coast. Sporting the Victoria to Eastbourne/Hastings headcode discs, she looked part for a northerner! Leaving London Victoria, she would pass Copyhold Junction. This is where we would first capture her as this will hopefully Bluebell Railway metals will once again use this junction to take the trip to Haywards Heath. Taking advantage of a break at Haywards Heath, I would beat the tour again to watch her steam through the quaint Sussex villages of Glynde and Berwick as she would finally reach her finally destination at Eastbourne. The tour would be diesel hauled on the way to Hastings with the five taking over once again on the way back to London.
